Writing Process

Screen Tests

Having been inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s films, he rewrote the script several times and concluded a contract with the United Artists studio. William Cutt should have played the role of Luke, but the director gave the part to Mark Hamill. It was more difficult with the image of Princess Leia. Sissy Spacek, Glenn Close, Jessica Lange, Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver, Kim Basinger, Kathleen Turner, Geena Davis, Melanie Griffith is not a complete list of the people who fought for this role, but it was given to Carrie Fisher.

It Began As a Success

In fact, the image of Han Solo was based on Lucas’ friend, a certain Francis Ford Coppola. The character of Darth Vader was invented by Lucas one of the first.
